Bio

Hello my name is Laura Martinez BUT on the softball field call me "speedy". I came into this world on December 17, 1992 at Polly Ryan Hospital in Richmond, Texas now known as Oak Bend. I've played in the diamond field for almost fourteen years now, and that's all I've really known. I started off as a baseball player for two years, then figured out boys had cooties. Then I met the life of softball... the rest is history!

At thirteen I played for an All-Star team, Sugarland Stingrays that turned out great and it ended up continuing to a 2nd year All-Star team with a couple of new rookies. The following Spring Coach Freddy thought we were a great group of girls and thought we would make it far together as a select team, and turns out he was right. Sugarland Stealth is the name, my primary position is left field, and my secondary position is center field.

I attend Terry High School is Rosenberg, Texas. I am a Senior. I made varsity my Freshman year in that year while working hard in my honors classes and on the field I still managed to earn New Comer of the year, and 2nd team All-District. My sophomore year on varsity I also earned Top Hitter of the year and yet again 1st team All-District. My junior year I got Ranger Pride of the year. I'm also in extra curriculum classes such as HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) as well as PALs (Peer Assistant Leadership).

I plan to major in kinesiology and become a physical therapist. Last but not least my family, I adore them and wouldn't trade them for anyone in the world. My dad is my hero, my mom is my best friend, my sister is my 'mini me', and my brother is my fat boy. I love them dearly and I know without them I wouldn't be where I am today.
